The device for automatic tool changer is intended for a vertical boring machine, horizontally moving the headstock 1 of which carries at its end a vertical spindle head 2 with a working spindle 3 rotating in it 3. At the end vertical guides 4 of the machine base 5 the worktable 6 with a vertical column cantilever mounted on it 7. On the central pin 8 of the column 7 a hollow horizontal bracket 9 is U-shaped with a bearing assembly 10 .. Next to the spindle head, a tool magazine 25 is horizontally placed on the stand 24, the chain 26 of which, enveloping the driven sprocket 27, carries hollow cylindrical sleeves 28 into which the tool 29 is inserted into the bottom, the tapered shank of which is held in the clamp. The intermediate positions of the bracket 9 are labeled 30-32, the movement path of the trunnion 12 is arc 33, and the tool 29 is arc 34.
The tool change is performed as follows.
In each shift operation, the column 7 moves to the shift position, in which the pivotal movements of the parts of the changer do not interfere with other parts of the machine. In this case, the bracket 9 is in the position indicated in FIG. 1 at position 30, for placing the tool into the spindle 3, the bracket 9 is rotated to position 31 by means of a predetermined retraction of the piston rod 22, while the moving jaws 17 and 18 are centered along the central axis of the tool 29 located in the front slot of the magazine laterally, the tapered shank of the corresponding tool 29. Due to the vertical movement downwards of the table 6 with the tool console 29, it is removed from the protective sleeve 28 of the magazine. As soon as the tool shank is completely released from the sleeve 28, a new pivotal movement of the bracket 9 to position 32 (Fig. 1) occurs, and the axle of the trunnion 12 moves along a circular arc 33. This pivotal movement of the bracket 9 is transformed by the chain drive 15 into the pro-posterior pivoting movement of the gripper 13 in which the tool 29 moves with its vertical axis along the arc path 34.
